“Umm, let’s not do that Katie at least not yet,” Mia told the giant girl.
“Why not?” Katie inquired.
Mia paused to think about her reasoning before responding, “I just,” she stammered, “I need a little time to relax and once Nicole finds out about this, she’s going to want to get me back to normal and I don’t need doctors poking me right now.”
“I don’t like doctors either,” Katie sympathized.
Suddenly the door opened, and Nicole came in, “Katie, are you okay? You never answered me.”
Thinking fast Mia ran behind Katie who was searching for a good lie, “I umm… saw a spider.” Katie replied not looking her sister in the eyes.
“You did?” Nicole skeptically questioned.
Katie cleared her throat and continued to concentrate on her pillow, “I was getting my jammies for my bath and he crawled out from under the bed.”
“Well,” Nicole said slowly, “you want me to find him?”
“No,” Katie quickly replied, “he ran away.”
“Okay,” Nicole went to the door, “I’m going to get your bath ready.”
After Nicole left Mia came out and Katie gave her a guilty look, “I don’t like lying to Nicky.”
“I know Katie,” Mia soothed, “but it’s just for a little while.” Mia put a hand on Katie’s knee, “I just want a little quality time with my favorite Munchkin.”
“I’m your favorite?” Katie started, “Hey wait a minute I’m not a munchkin you’re the one in my Barbie’s dress.”
“Yeah,” Mia countered, “but I’m not the one with cartoon characters on my panties.”
Katie laughed. “Katie,” Nicole called, “bath time!”
“Coming!” Katie shouted back. “Wanna come take a bath with me?” Mia gave Katie an apprehensive look, “you can wear a swimsuit,” Katie offered.
