You began walking home and noticed one of the rings the guy was trying to sell on the side of the road. Never being one to pass up free things, you picked up the ring and noticed a crack, but tossed it into your bag anyways. You noticed the device your teacher had given you to test. His very own whacked-out invention. Mr. Wilson's Soon-To-Be-Patented Energy Projector.
This machine takes a source of energy, and shoots it into something else!
Which he then proceeded to exemplify by heating it up and then pointing at students to make them warm.
It's sunny out, so you take out the device to test it. The ring falls deep into the endless mess that is your backpack. To avoid losing it, you reach for it and toss it onto your finger until you could find a better place to put it. The ring turns into a glowing, misty blue, the shade of discontent.
You get the yet unnamed device and point it in the direction of a shady bus stop. The sun's light energy should make the shade dissapear, right?
