When food gets stuck in his throat or gets sick, Bolt tends to cough violently or hack. In the case of chocking on food, hacking it out has worked so Bolt decided to see if that could get you unstuck. He opened his mouth as wide as possible, squinted his eyes and hacked as much as he could.
At the back of Bolt's throat, you were still stuck covered in mucus. The sound and sight of a dog hacking has always been loud and startling but never was it more true than hearing and witnessing it all from an unimaginable viewpoint. Cough noises thundered into your ears and you couldn't help but feel a little disturbed. Everything from the walls of the mouth, to the saliva, to the massive, long tongue were moving at a fast rate. Looking directly ahead of you, Bolt has his head facing the ground so you can see the floor. As you looked down into the esophagus, all you could see was darkness. Regardless of what was going to happen to you, it wasn't an ideal situation for you and your dog.
Droplets of saliva hits you in all directions and it was a little unbearable but then you notice something. You slowly become loose from the walls of Bolt's throat. Realizing this, you begin to squirm effortlessly and this worked. A minute later, you were free but then gravity pulled you down. It looked like you were on your way to the stomach but then Bolt started hacking even more as a response to you unexpectedly falling into his throat. Your heart began to race, worrying that you may not make it out in one piece but then you are lift up into the air by the exhaled air from Bolt's fierce cough. Being lifting up by air was completely new to and while you were taken aback, you found yourself on Bolt's tongue again. Once Bolt noticed you were back in his mouth, he slowly released you back onto the floor.
Now covered in thick saliva, you finally had a chance to catch your breath. Bolt took away some of the saliva by playfully licking it off you. This freakish experience made both of you think about how valuable one is the other.
"Chances are, you didn't see that coming and I apologize." Bolt said, referring to when he first sniffed up. He looked down in shame and embarrassed.
"It's okay I actually didn't mind it that much," you said, "just give me a heads up next time."
Bolt's face immediately went up and smiled and he followed that up by giving you more kisses. Feeling a little tired, you asked Bolt, "how about we rest together?" Bolt thought that was a good idea and immediately rested on his side. You choose to walk over to his belly and rest your head next to his abdomen. After getting comfortable, it didn't take very long before you fell asleep.
