Phoebe was rubbing her belly in the mirror when Cole rang back. She could hear concern in his voice. "Okay, panic over. But you may not be happy with what I have to say."
"Why?" Phoebe asked. "It's a curse, isn't it? I knew it."
"Nothing of the sort." Cole said. "It's just that, well, this is the result of your magic."
"My magic? What, did I do something wrong or something?"
"No, its simply that all witches are 'affected' by their magic. Some less and some more. All of the changes are inevitable, and it's quite hard to get magic to 'solve the problem' because as far as natural white magic is concerned, there is no 'problem'."
"Then what is it?" Phoebe asked, honestly a little curious.
"The thing is, Phoebe, every witch's magic eventually changes them. Gives them a form based on their subconscious thoughts." He sighed. "You're beginning to get fat because, deep down, you *want* to get fat."
