Sat in class, you began to slouch in your chair as you heard the tick tock of the large circular clock up on the wall above the blackboard. You might well have fallen asleep had you not noticed something about your teacher Mr. Gallagher. You squinted from your seated position near the back of the class, something just didn't look right about him, but you couldn't immediately lay a finger on what it was.
"Is he... shorter?" You asked yourself, frowning intently as you tried to decide if your teacher had shrunk. But then the stupidity of the thought settled in. Don't be stupid Lara. You thought, shaking your head.
But as your eyes drifted to Mr Gallagher's feet, you noticed the way his pant legs were bunched up around his ankles more than usual. As ridiculous as it seemed, it was as though he HAD shrunk. But how? Did he have a weird genetic height disorder? Not that it was your business if he did. You shook your head quickly and decided to look elsewhere around the room.
By this time, you weren't listening to anything that Mr Gallagher was saying.
You looked first at Wendy, the freckled redhead near the front of the class on the right, and sat behind her was Thomas, who was a friend of Lionel's but not quite as nerdy (though he definitely looked the part). Your eyes drifted over to Joanne, a blonde girl with an average figure and pretty looks, then Amy, an auburn-haired girl who was one of the shortest students in class. And sat next to you was Kyle, one of the more good looking guys in class, and quite polite, unlike the jocks.
Looking left, there were fewer classmates, but one in particular caught your attention, and that was Cindy, a brunette girl sat in front of Lionel, who seemed to be chuckling away to himself. Your keen eyes noticed that Cindy seemed to be sat up higher in her chair than usual, by a couple of inches at least, maybe more.
Closing your eyes and then opening them again, you kept looking at Cindy, frowning.
Suddenly, Lionel turned slightly and the particular grin on his face sent a shiver down your back. He looked downright devious. But at least Nancy wasn't hanging off his arm anymore, since she was in a different class. You smiled nervously as Lionel waved at you.
