Just like every Friday night, it was time for poker. Justin and his friends from college had a tradition of always getting together when everybody was in town to play poker. They always took turns hosting poker night. For years, it was a normal poker game. But once the magic medallion was discovered, it completely changed the game. Each week, all the friends would use the medallion to disguise their appearance. This helped with bluffing and distractions. It was always a fun evening to see who or what the friends were going to play as.
Because choosing who to play as always had an effect on others, they decided years ago that it wasn’t fair to see each other before joining the game. That way, it kept their anonymity and didn’t influence cause others to choose their disguise. Justin walked up to Vince’s house. His wife Juliet answered the door with a grin, “Hi Justin! The medallion is in the master bedroom! You know the rules! You gotta use it before joining the rest of the guys!”
Justin was excited for his disguise. It had been months since he won at poker. It seemed like no matter what body he chose, his poker face was always giving him away. This time though, he had an idea. He wanted to keep his normal human body, but needed a head and face that wouldn’t give away his cues. Standing in the bedroom, Justin pulled out a muzzle from his pet dog. Justin touched the medallion and his face began to change. His nose protruded out and he grew long floppy ears. His teeth got sharp and when the changes were complete, he had a dog’s head. Justin looked in the mirror at his creation. He attempted to smile, and with his new head, it was impossible to tell. He tried various other facial expressions. He experimented looking sad, mad, happy and nervous. Each look was impossible to differentiate with a canine head. Justin knew this week was going to be his lucky week! With a dog’s head, he wouldn’t give away any of his bluffs or good poker hands!
Justin went into Vince’s basement to join the others. It was always exciting to make an entrance with a magic medallion creation. Justin knew his friends would be impressed with his choice.
