His breath might have come in short puffs after a trip down the stairs but that didn't keep Blue from strutting into the kitchen like a rooster.
Even in his own home Blue seemed to ooze confidence and charisma.
Waiting on the table was a plate Daisy had made up for him.
Two eggs, sunny-side up, three thickly sliced pieces of toast coated with butter, several strips of bacon and four sausage patties were crowded onto a blue china plate with a cup of milk and half a cup of orange juice off to the side.
Blue took one look and turned his nose up at it.
"That's all?" He huffed rather then thanking his sister for her hard work.
Daisy looked up from where she was sitting, chewing thoughtfully on a slice of toast as she went over her appointments for the day.
"Well... maybe if you had gotten up earlier you would have had more. Grampa didn't complain."
Blue muttered, something about being young and still growing, as he went over and rummaged through the fridge. By the time he was done his breakfast spread consisted not just of the plate Daisy had made but also applesauce, frozen (and then microwaved) waffles, strawberries and a bagel that was filled with more cream cheese then there was bread.
Not even waiting to sit down before he started dining, Blue had already eaten the bagel just in the wait for the waffles to heat up. It was the waffles that he took on next, dripping with butter and syrup, as they were the kind of things that cooled off quickly. With those out of the way he pulled the plate Daisy had made up towards him. The bacon was still warm and crisp, snapping as bit into them, picking them up with thick fingers. The sausages were hot and mildly spicy and he found himself dipping them in the leftover syrup from the waffles to balance the taste. The eggs, perfectly fried, went down so quickly it was hard to tell if Blue had even chewed them or if he just swallowed them whole.
Blue stopped only to let out a belch before he reached for the toast.
Eating his way through the healthier items on the menu took far longer.
His stomach sat full and hard on his lap, a testament to how stuffed he was, even though he kept chowing down. Both he and the chair he sat on were groaning softly as he plopped the last strawberry into his mouth then washed it down with the remaining milk.
Leaning back, Blue rubbed his belly hopping to ease the tension in his gut, kneading the hard roll of flesh to help with that too-full feeling. It was painful yet comforting at the same time.
It was only after Daisy cleared the mess away and placed a grey fanny-pack on the table in front of him that Blue seemed to snap out of his mini food coma.
"Wazzat?" He grunted as he sat forward to pick it up.
Daisy gave him one of her sweetest smiles. "You know Grampa is still waiting for you at the lab." she reminded him gently.
Blue cursed and grabbed the fanny-pack, practically knocking the chair over with his butt as he got up.
It took several tries to get the pack around his waist, chubby hands having a hard time getting the buckle to latch, and when it did his belly oozed almost comedicly over it causing it to be partially obscured by his doughy love-handles.
Then with nothing more then a casual "Smell ya later, sis" he was out the door.
