with some bags in her hand. Luke doesn't have time to cover up, and so was afraid that his mum will see that he's gained so much weight. He was propped up on his elbows (which only emphasized his belly) mouth open, trying to think of something to day
"Luke, I got you some new new school uniforms. I saw that the old ones were looking a little small on you."
Luke didn't say anything, still a little shocked that she didn't seem to notice.
"You're just growing so fast. Try these on tonight, and let me know in the morning how they are, OK, sweetie?"
"Um.. OK." was all that Luke could stammer out.
"See you in the morning. Good night." she smiled and walked out the door, closing it behind her.
Once Luke got over his shock, he went over to the door (his stomach jiggling) and locked it. He didn't understand. Why didn't she notice? Then he went over the the bags and pulled out his new uniforms. After putting them on, he saw how baggy they were.The waistband of his pants was at least 2 sizes to big for him. In the bag he found a black belt. Putting that on his pants, he found that that kept his pants on.
But why did she buy them so big? It's like she was saying to Luke it's OK to get fat.
He put the clothes way and lay back down in bed, eating the rest of the doughnuts, trying to figure things out. Should he ask, or just accept for now?
