Pikachu's ears had perked at the strange words, as puzzled as his partner was by their meaning. They sounded almost familiar... The little Pokemon felt a shudder travel up his spine as he listened, and found himself frozen on the spot, intently listening to the words. He felt like he could almost understand them, and they seemed important. That shudder went up his spine again, and he began to feel very warm.
An alien sensation was forcing his attention away from listening; his arms had suddenly began to feel... thicker. Confused, he looked down, and saw that they were growing larger! He felt the sensation on his legs, and saw that the same thing was happening there! His body was growing in bulges, but it was evening out to keep him in the same proportions he'd started with. A small comfort when he was growing larger and larger like this!
He let out a surprisingly weak "Chaaaa...!" which Ash didn't hear over his own reading. The feelings of warmth and thickness were overpowering now, and so new to him that he couldn't even say whether he liked it or not. He shuddered as his body gained more and more mass, and soon his body was towering above Ash, who frowned as the new shadow made it harder to read the book.
Pikachu had to sway and whirl his arms to keep his balance, his tail wagging back and forth as he tried to adapt to being over three stories tall. He looked down at himself in distress. He looked like his old handsome self, but now his ears were visible above the treeline, and another growth spurt let him peek over the highest leaves. Ash, lovable oblivious boy that he was, finally noticed that something was odd, and turned around to where Pikachu used to be sitting. Except that now he was looking at the space between Pikachu's giant paws, and all the color in his face drained as he slowly tilted his head up to stare at his gigantic Pokemon. Now that his terror had died down, Pikachu was coming to grips with the fact that his dream of being large and intimidating had come true in ways he hadn't even hoped for. Actually...!
He looked down, and tilted his head to the side with a smile. "Pikachu!"
