<i>Chris: To save myself from explaining how Hyrule gets a Christmas, I've just named their yearly gift-fest 'Holly Day', to have a more generic feeling for the chapter. (you can edit this message out if you want)</i>
Ruto swam from Zora Domain to Hyrule Field via a river that connects the two. She climbed up the bank and looked to the north. Several towers contrasted with the sky, leading down to a series of large buildings known as Hyrule Castle. A cleared but very plain grassy hill was the mid-point between her and the well-known market district of Hyrule, where everything happens with the idea of obtaining money or possessions. The sun was up, and the drawbridge was just the opposite.
Within an hour she traversed the field and the market district, and upon lending a guard her royal seal, gained entrance to the castle. The foyer was, as usual, filled with servants and royal guards who were all there fulfilling some task the king had given them. The only thing the Zora princess found interesting about the entire place was the Hyrulian princess and her entourage, who were making a scene in the middle of the room. The princess of Hyrule herself was certainly dwarfed by the others, being that she was seven years old. Glancing around and shouting high-pitched orders, Zelda noticed Ruto.
"Hi, Ruru!" she ran over and gave Ruto a friendly pat on the back. "Isn't it a great day to not be conquered by an evil wizard? Teehee!"
"Oh, well of course! Who would want that to happen?" Ruto noted her enthusiastic attitude. "What's going on here?"
"In order for me to be a princess, I must have lots of stuff, right? Well..." Zelda sang the end of the sentence and Ruto was laughing discreetly at the view of being a princess. "Well, I'm telling everyone what toys I want this Winter!"
"I guess you couldn't really go wrong asking for so much things when everyone here is paid about two rupees a month, right? Joking..."
"Hey, I never got to ask, but what are you doing out of Zora Domain? Don't you want to get lots of toys next Holly Day?"
"I'm fine, ha... Got bored. I thought we might be able to play tag."
"Tag...?" Zelda pondered for a moment, "Isn't that the game the poor people play?"
<i>I guess if you count all Zoras as poor people,</i> the Zora princess thought, faking another laugh.
