Chapter #5

Curiosity killed the cat

She smiled devilishly

"Okay, we will start when I count to 3,"

"Wait," you manage to say, "I may not want to play this game, I need to know the specifics of the game."

She sighed, obviously impatient and wanting to play, strangely. She pointed to your red clock. It was a weird clock given to you by your cousin, and it's supposed to ring every hour, but it rings every 13 minutes instead.

"We will wait until the clock rings, you need to prevent me from smothering you with my feet for 30 seconds, although I bet you would like it."

She seemed to not stop being strange today.

"And that's it, are you ready now?"

"No, I need to know one more thing first." you reply cautiously.

She was annoyed, and let out a sigh while stomping one of her currently sock-clad feet. Perhaps soon you may be under it next time, but you are confident in your ability. You only worry if she will remove her sweaty and noticeably gross footwear before we begin. I don't know which will be worse. She had on the same long socks from yesterday's soccer practice, you now realize, but you are sure you saw her throw them carelessly into the laundry. Maybe she didn't?
It didn't matter now, because if she continues with her current dark black socks, it could be uncomfortable. You don't want to think about the feeling of her socks, undoubtedly laden with accumulated sweat assaulting your fragile face. It must be a nightmare to be trapped in a large version of those socks, or worse, be shrunk and in them, sliding around because of the slipperiness, only to be pressed so uncaring into her soles when she walks, or squeezed in the infinite folds of her toes, probibly to be stuck there forever. Of course, the smell would prove formidable, but you haven't experienced any serious foot odor in your life, so that challenge seemed invisible, you wouldn't know how bad it could be.

The dampness will be the worst aspect, but the alternative seems less attractive. If she decides to somehow peel off her socks, and utilize her raw weapons, then the experience would be very different. There would be little problem with any sweat soaked in the fabric of her sock, but her bare foot up close won't act shy with their own weapons. You may accidentally catch sock lint or toe jam into your mouth, or worse yet, swallow some. You have had a previous experience where your sister surprised you with an oreo, but the insides were filled with the residue washed from between her toes, and it tasted awful. You don't want that taste in your mouth again. The actual foot itself would have more traction and be less prone to sliding. Her probibly feisty toes also formed an effective mechanism to latch on to your face, although it would be only a weak grasp. If one were small enough to be held by the weak force of someone's toe muscles, and forced inside the horribly disgusting toe crevice, then they would be powerless to stop all the combined repulsion the simple foot can offer. You are glad you won't have to be subjected to that, she would never let go, and not stop until you have simply become part of her foot. The smell must be exponentially worse without the socks, and legions of the stinky air would fumigate your room, and create an uncomfortable environment, especially up close.

You now face a problem, she is reaching for her socks...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Ask her to keep the socks on during the game

2. Let her take her socks off before the game

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
