Sam adjusted his sitting position, not understanding why his legs seemed to stretch awkwardly in front of him, or why he wasn't exactly resting against the back of the couch. For a second, he thought things looked a little odd around him. Did Brian seem taller? Did the couch seem roomier? Then, as if coming up from out of a haze, he regained his focus.
"You all right there, big guy?" Greg asked.
"Fuck yeah, shrimp!" Sam responded.
"Dude, are you sure with those stats? Why'd I think you were bigger?" Zeke asked.
"DUDE?!" Sam responded sarcastically, "For a guy who's 6-foot-3, 330 pounds is pretty awesome!"
Somewhere in the back of Sam's mind, a strange thought crossed his mind. He seemed to remember a time when he was a few inches taller. But as quickly as that thought occurred, it soon vanished.
Sam, suddenly feeling a little vulnerable, grabbed his beer from Brian, and chugged the rest of it.
