It all started after the battle at Arlong park. Nami's village was freed from Arlong's evil grip Now the Straw hats were out to sea sailing to get supplies. Nami was making sure they were right on course. Meanwhile Luffy and Usopp were having practicing the cannons, Zorro was napping off the side and Sanji was cooking to get ready for dinner. Nami was working on a map on the next island over. Then they reached land. Nami decided now was a good time to get supplies. So she went to the market to find some supplies. She kept walking around when suddenly a voice called out to her.
(voice) Pssst! Hey you!
Nami: Who said that?
Nami turned around and there was a little old woman. She looked a little creepy.
Nami: Um..... Can I help you ma'am?
She just looked at Nami from head to toe.
Old woman: Hmmm. Yes you're perfect!
Nami: Perfect for what?
Old woman: do you like treasure?
The moment the woman said treasure Nami's eyes turned into dollar signs.
Nami: Treasure?!?! Hell yes I do!
Old woman: Good. Then I want to you to have this.
She held out what appeared to be some kind of fruit.
Nami: Hey what's this?
Old woman: It's a very special devil fruit. If you eat it will grant you treasures beyond your wildest dreams.
NamI: Awesome! I'll take it!!! Wait how much do I owe you?
When she turned around the old woman was gone.
Nami: I guess it's free. Hahaha yes!
and she raced back to the ship and locked herself in her room. She looked at the fruit every which away.
Nami: Hmmm. I guess I have to eat it. Should I? Hmmm.
She pondered on this. On the one hand if she ate it she would lose her ability to swim. Then again the old woman said if she ate it she would have treasures beyond her wildest dreams.
Nami: Oh to hell with it! I want the treasure so down the hatch!
She took the fruit and ate it in a few bites. She looked at herself and looked for her treasure, but it was no where to be seen.
