You release the clip on your seat belt...

You release the clip on your seat belt, seeing the two members you thought were unconscious start to move.

Looking out the porthole, you can see the landscape beyond the valley. It resembles a wasteland of craters.

“Holy shit”, you whisper. “Planet FUBARed”.

“Here comes the cavalry” Spengler says from behind.

Overhead you see what looks like a swarm of insects. Then you realise the dark cloud is a massive formation of OEA troop and equipment carriers commonly called Mules. The Mule is a type of drop-ship used on planetary assaults. One Mule can typically carry one hundred soldiers or three heavy combat vehicles such as a Centurion tank.

“Activate our distress beacon”, you say. “Let’s make sure they don’t mistake us for an enemy craft and call for an air strike.”

“Activated”, the computer complies.

"Computer", you say, "give me a damage report."

“Stealth system – damaged and deactivated", the computer starts.
"Engines damaged and deactivated at twenty percent capacity;
Shields – damaged and deactivated;
Auxiliary power – hundred percent remaining;
Ship’s hull – intact, functional at ninety percent capacity;
Avionics – functional at fifty percent capacity, navigation accuracy compromised;
Primary power source – functional at twenty percent capacity;
Weapons systems – functional at hundred percent capacity.”

"We're not going anywhere untill we get at least five repair droids out here", you say dryly.

As the Mule drop ships scatter out over the landscape, one lands fifty feet from your position. You see the cargo ramp open, followed by a stream of heavy infantry pouring out the back. In front, you recognise the platoon sergeant by his rank. He heads over to your position.

“Open the ramp”, you say making sure your Gauss pistol is loaded before running down the ramp.

“Sergeant”, you say saluting the approaching soldier.

You have the following choice:
