Konari decided to gather some courage for what she was about to do later, by treating herself to one of her favourite meals in a nearby restaurant. The whole time she kept trying to forget about how her hunger distracted her from her real goal and how she was still determined to confess her love to her best friend, daydreaming with a life where they spent together as more than just best friends.
"Hello, what do you want today? Everything alright?" The onwer of the restaurant, a friendly chubby neko with gray hair and green eyes recognized one of his regulars and got curious and slightly concerned about her inattentive expression for a second.
"Huh? Oh sorry, I guess I was just.. overthinking something, hehe" Konari answered with a nervous chuckle "umm.. what's this?"
"Oh, it's a new special burger I'm trying out to see if customers like it, it's kind of big as it has meat, bacon and eggs but I hope it's tasty enough for customers to keep coming back" the owner smiled advertising his latest entry to the menu. It sounded good enough to Konari too
"Sure, let's try this one. I hope it serves to remember a special day" Konari said with a slight blush that didn't go unnoticed
"Is that so? Right away miss! To make it extra special I will make this one on the house just for you!"
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah, I recognize you and know you like eating here. Consider it as a token of my appreciation for being a loyal customer" the owner nodded seeing Konari's face beaming with happiness at the unexpected surprise, feeling happy himself with his decision to enact a random act of kindness for the young neko
"Thank you so much! I hope you're right and today is my lucky day" A delighted Konari exclaimed, visualizing further success in more important matters and making a mental note to pay back the owner in some way, maybe with more frequent visits. She already could see it, her and Kai now as a couple, feasting regularly in all the delicacies this nice place offered, laughing and talking about their day and..
"There you go! Hey, I told you it was kind of big"
"Whoa" Konari was speechless. Surprised, but with her mouth already watering
"Enjoy your meal! If you have any feedback after it I will be very grateful to receive it" The owner bowed slightly and retired, and Konari, forgetting about everything else in front of such an exquisite meal tackled it with gusto, hoping to be able to finish it all by herself because it looked that good.
