As it happens, everything is a done deal.

Not that you mind. Mike is a very good looking guy. And he's a nice guy. Well, he was a nice guy whenever you interacted with him.

And that's the catch, isn't it. You've interacted with Mike as a tutor. Not as his wife. And considering your diminutive physical stature, Mike will literally have more "leeway" with you than other people in a normal spousal relationship would have.

But if you're going to have to get married (which your mother insists is going to happen), Mike is better than you can hope for.

That's what you're telling yourself, anyway.
