All things considered, dinner goes very well. You know you're not the only six inch tall woman in the world. You've met a handful of them (no pun intended) growing up on arranged playdates. But you know you're such a rarity that most people have never seen someone your size outside of a documentary. And since Nocfed (the company whose experiments caused a small portion of your generation's women to be shrunken) has met its financial obligations quite liberally, none of the shrunken women have had to go out in public.
You were expecting Mike to be staring at you all night. And he has glanced at you more than once, though he's been trying to be surreptitious about it. He asks you a few size related questions, but that isn't the whole of his inquiries to you.
Mike recently graduated with a dual degree in art history and library science. His original plan was to work as a teacher, with his income subsidized by a trust set up by his grandfather. Instead, he is currently working in a small warehouse sorting through rare books. You can tell he enjoys encountering and preserving unique books, even if he spends quite a time alone.
Your Mom made dinner for the four of you, serving it in the small dining area in the family's basement. The basement has been renovated over time, so that it has a small theater and a game room, both of which are adapted so you can use.
Your Mom and Dad don't embarrass you (too much), and even though you two are still around each other, things seem to be clicking between you and Mike. Your Mom sees this and suggests to your Dad that they give the young people some time to get to know each other better.
As your Mom and Dad ascend the stairs, leaving you and Mike alone, you two stare awkwardly at each other until you suggest to Mike that
