There are a few non-giant mythological sea creatures.

Cecaelia, an octopus person, upper body of a person, lower body of an octopus. incredibly flexible and squishy, and hair can turn into tentacles.

A sea dragon, basically something close to an oriental dragon but with fins and can breath under water.

Boobrie, a large penguin that can shapeshift and tends to eat livestock from farms

Nguruvilu, a fox sea snake with a furry tail and sharp claws on it's forearms.
