Weight lifting would just make him bigger, even if he got more muscles that wouldn't get rid of the fat.
And the indoor track was crap, they hadn't fixed that thing up in years and you were likely to trip over the uneven surface.
It seemed the pool was his only option.
In the locker room, he waited for a quite moment, then pulled out his swim trunks and prepared to change. Just as he got them up around his knees, Cliff walked in.
"Hey, dude. Finally doing something about that gut?"
Troy nearly fell over.
"Uh...yeah. I was kinda busy this past week, but I'm ready to start now."
"Great! Never too late to get in shape." Cliff smiled, pulling off his shirt. In just a few days, he had already completely eradicated his trace amounts of summer weight gain. Now his abs looked solid enough to grate cheese on.
Slightly jealous, Troy pulled his shorts the rest of the way up and buttoned- except...they wouldn't button. Looking down, he realized that no matter how hard he pushed, he could not make hole and fastener meet. He was too fat for this swimsuit.
"Yikes, too small?" Cliff quipped, pulling on a pair of trunks that just emphasized his perfect physique. "Looks like you got here not a moment too soon." He pulled a bundle of cloth from his locker and tossed them at Troy. "Here, these are my shorts from the summer, way too big for me now. Maybe you can fit into them."
Troy caught the suit, and Cliff strode confidently out of the locker room. Begrudgingly, Troy slipped them on, only to find that the button was once again, quite distant from the hole. At least now, however, he could force them together, squeezing his fat up and over like toothpaste from a tube.
"Great." He thought to himself, suddenly wondering if coming to the gym was such a good idea after all.
