Dan twitched in response to the comment. He had started using steroids only about a month ago and it was already known by nearly everyone. Sure he had a few pimples but, most had already been there and he didn't exactly show any other signs of use. Someone must have seen him jack up. Who it could have been, Dan had no idea. However that was irrelevant at this point and soon enough someone would rat him out. It was only a matter of time.
Dan was doing all he could to discredit the rumor, including refusing to overreact. He politely denied the claim to anyone who asked and to anyone who said it close enough. He kept calm at all times and never showed any signs of 'roid rage.' Still despite everything he did, including never injecting publicly, the rumour grew. Almost everyone was talking about it.
