Ryan looked inside the box and noticed a figurine with long black hair going all the way down to her waist.
"Christina", he said to himself as he read the label underneath her. He reached inside and picked up the doll, only to be met with an immediate cry of,
"Get your hands off me!"
Ryan yelped and dropped the figurine, which landed on the floor with a small bumping sound.
"Ow!" the strange, tiny voice cried again. "Don't drop me! Jesus, you're so clumsy!" Getting down on the floor, Ryan tried to find the source of the voice, only to trace it to where the doll was standing.
"It couldn't be, could it?" he thought. Indeed, it was.
"Well, don't just stand there, pick me up!" The doll's lips moved in perfect sync with the words.
"No frickin' way", Ryan said as he picked up the doll. As he did so, he did said to her,
"Hold on a minute! You're the one who told me not to touch you in the first place. Why are you angry at me?"
"Well, I never told you to drop me, idiot!" the doll shot back as Ryan picked her up and set her down on his bedside table. After taking a deep breath, the doll spoke again. "Alright, look, I'm sorry. I'm kind of the irritable type, and seeing you all big, with your huge hands reaching out to me and all... I'm sorry, okay? I'll try to watch my temper from now on."
Ryan only eyed her suspiciously. He cast a glance over to the black box that he had set down on his bed. Remembering what he had read about it, he wondered if now would be the perfect time to see if it works.
