Chapter #3Up And Down And Up And... by: Unknown "Berry, was it?" Jordan asked the living doll. "Yes?" she replied. "Um... what do you know about this box?" he asked as he showed her the black box, still sitting on his lap. Berry looked at it several times and from several different angles. After a while, she stepped back and shrugged her shoulders. "Sorry, but I really couldn't tell you much about it. Well, other than the obvious stuff about it, of course. Why, what about it?"
"Well, when I spoke into it... that is, when I said you're name and a size... you suddenly woke up and grew to almost twice your size. You were only about 6 inches, a little taller than that, before I woke up. The manual said I could use this to change your size. I'm not quite sure if it really works, so... if you don't mind?" "Oh no!" she replied. "Go ahead, I don't mind."
"Weird." he thought. If someone could change his size at will, he'd be pretty freaked. Still, if she was up for it, he figured that he might as well try this thing out. "Let's see." he said, bringing the box up to his mouth. "Berry. 5 feet 7 inches." he intoned, entering in his own height into the machine. Sure enough, Berry suddenly began to swell in size until she was dead even with Jordan's height. "Oh my" she cried, surprised by the sudden change.
Before she could get used to her new height, however, Ryan intoned once again. "Berry. 1 inch." Just as suddenly, Berry dwindled down to the size of one of the many used up pencils Ryan kept in his backpack. "Oh dear! This is kinda scary!" she cried in a much smaller voice than she had used before. Not wanting to upset the innocent doll, Ryan spoke again. "Berry. 6 1/3 inches." he spoke, taking the size from Berry's given height on the box. Once more, Berry grew back to her original size.
"Phew! That was kinda scary. Well, now we know more about it, right Ryan? Ryan?" she asked. But the boy wasn't paying attention. "It works." he thought. "It actually works." He couldn't believe it. Here, lying in his lap, was the key to fulfilling his wildest dreams and fantasies. What were once just exciting dreams could become the boy's reality! On the other hand, Berry didn't seem very happy with it. Maybe he should give her a break.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
