Matt stops at the rings. There are several to choose from and he’s just not sure which would be the one to get. Mr. Lee seeing Matt’s look of indecision comes over. “Wife or girlfriend”, Lee asks. Matt, deep in thought hears Lee talking, but doesn’t catch what he said looks up and asks, “What”? Lee smiles and asks again, “Are you looking for something for your wife or girlfriend”? Matt blushes at the thought of being married to Kim and answers, “Oh, just my girlfriend for the time being. It’s kind of our anniversary of our first date. I want to get her something special, but even though we’ve been together a year I still don’t understand her enough to know what she would like”.
Lee laughs and responds, “Son, you could be with a woman for fifty years and still not understand everything about her. They are wonderful and fascinating creatures”. Matt looking even more lost asks, “What would you recommend”? Lee smiles and reaches into the case retrieving a small ring. “I think this one here is the one you’re looking for. I believe it will help you to understand your girlfriend better”, Lee says.
Matt looks at the ring. It’s not very flashy. It doesn’t have any large stones, or anything. It simply appears to be a yin yang symbol made from some small jewels. Yet this yin yang is pink and blue instead of black and white. Matt is a little unimpressed and asks, “Are you sure she would like this, does it do anything special or something”.
