Chapter #3

Seeing things from a new perspective

As Stacy sat at the table while Amanda went to a room to unpack, she started to read one of her textbooks

from school. However, before long the words began to look a bit fuzzy.

Looking up from the book, things weren't that clear either.

"Damn, wonder what is going on? I know I haven't been reading that long!"

"These might help," Amanda replied as she placed a pair of glasses on the end of Stacy's nose.

"Hey, thanks, I uhhh, ahem..." she uttered as she tried to clear her throat, her voice sounding different to her.

"What's wrong Stacy?"

"It's just that I didn't expect to have to wear glasses until I was at least my mom's age. And, this is going to sound

crazy, but my voice seems to have changed as well."

"How so?

"I...uhhh...well, I hear my voice and it doesn't really sound like me."

"Who do you think it sounds like?"

"Well, it sounds somewhere between my mom and my Aunt Susan. And, why do these glasses have this

beaded chain on them. I'm not going to misplace them, like mom does sometimes. "

"Stacy, I have something to tell you."
