Amanda patted her on the head. "You're probably hungry," she said. "I'll fix you something." She got up. Stacy started to follow her. "No, Stacy. Stay," Amanda said, firmly. Stacy suddenly froze at the command, leaning back on the couch. Amanda looked at her. "Off," she said, gesturing to the floor. "Sit," she directed.
Stacy found herself back on the floor. It wasn't a position that most humans, outside of gymnasts, yoga enthusiasts, or contortionists would be comfortable in, and Stacy was none of those things. It didn't seem to bother her though.
Amanda patted her head. "You must have been top of your class in school," she said, in a friendly voice. "Here's a treat for you," she said, holding out a small object near Stacy's mouth.
