Even as Amanda scratched her head, Stacy's ears began to change, shifting, becoming pointed, a dog's ears, covered with a fine, brown fur. Stacy didn't notice the change, as she was too busy enjoying the sensation of Amanda scratching her head.
"Say, Stacy", said Amanda, handing Stacy the phone. "I know I'm not your first choice of company. Why don't call a couple of your friends over - tell them to come by after supper, in about an hour or so?"
"OK, thanks, Amanda", said Stacy, thinking that maybe Amanda wasn't such a bad sort after all. She called her two friends, Jessica and Ana, and asked them to come by.
"Jessica's going to come by in about an hour", she said. "But Ana won't be able to get here for two hours. Is that OK?"
"Why, that will be perfect", said Amanda. "And now, let's think about getting you your supper."
Amanda went out to the kitchen. Stacy shook her head. She'd been enjoying having Amanda scratch her. Idly, she strolled over to the mirror that hung in the hall, and then gasped as she saw her ears.
"My ears!" she shrieked. "Wuh's happened to my ears?"
"What's that dear?" said Amanda. "I couldn't quite make it out."
"Muh earthe!" Said Stacy. She was finding it hard to speak. To her horror, her tongue began to loll out of her mouth.
"Muh tung!" she said. "Wuh's happnin tuh muh tung?"
"Never mind that, dear" said Amanda. "Come and get your dinner."
Stacy found herself compelled to walk out to the kitchen. She saw Amanda setting a bowl of what looked like dog food on the floor.
"Wuh's dat?"
"Your dinner, dear. Eat up."
"Ah yoo crathy? Um naw eatin dat!"
"Nonsense, dear. Doesn't it smell good?"
To Stacy's horror, it did smell good! Helplessly, she fell to her hands and knees in front of the dish. With all her strength, she willed herself not to eat the food, but her treacherous tongue began shoveling the stuff into her mouth. It tasted so good! As she ate, she felt her mouth move forward, as though eager to get closer to the food. She quickly devoured it all, licking the bowl clean. She put a hand to her face and yelped as she realized that she now had a dog's muzzle!
She tried to speak, but no matter how she tried, only canine sounds emerged. Amanda called her over.
"Come here, Stacy." Stacy found her legs carrying her over to where the older woman stood. Why was she obeying her so helplessly? Why wouldn't her body do what she wanted it to do? She looked at Amanda inquiringly.
"Yes, dear", Amanda said. "I'm afraid it is me doing this to you. I don't supose it's much comfort to you, but I'm not doing it to you for fun, or even because I want to. Now take off your clothes. There's no point it them getting them ruined while you change."
Stacy felt her arms move as if of their own accord, removing her clothing. Soon she stood naked before the other woman. Stacy noticed that things seemed to look - different somehow. She went and looked in the mirror - her head had completely changed into that of a German Shepherd! She barked fearfully at that image.
"Hush, girl!" said Amanda. "Come here."
Again, Stacy found herself obeying.
"Sit, girl! I don't want you falling and hurting yourself when your legs change."
Stacy sat on her haunches like a dog. She felt a weird pushing at the base of her spine. She looked back - she'd grown a tail!
"What a magnficent tail!" said Amanda. "Oh, Stacy, what a beautiful dog you're going to be!" Stacy's tail wagged, as though of its own volition. Her legs began to feel funny.
"Roll over on your side, dear, it will be more comfortable."
Stacy did as she was told and watched in shock as her feet shrank into paws, and her legs and pelvis began to re-orient themselves into canine contours. When this was complete, fur grew, covering her body from the waist down. She sat up again. Now, only her arms, hands and upper torso remained human. Part of her mind reflected on how bizarre she must look. The change began to move up her body. Her breasts vanished, replaced by canine nipples. Her arms became forelegs, and finally her hands re-shaped themselves into paws. Amanda looked at Stacy.
"I was right" she said, snapping collar attached to a leash around Stacy's neck. "You've become a beautiful dog. Come on, girl."
Amanda led Stacy out into the back yard, where stood three doghouses that Stacy had never seen before. Amanda detached the leash from Stacy's collar and attached a chain that was fastened to the doghouse in its place. She filled a water bowl from the garden hose and set it before the dog.
"You be good, Stacy", said Amanda. "I have to go get ready for your friends."
With that, Amanda went back into the house. Stacy fought furiously. Her friends! Was Amanda going to do this to her friends, too? Why else were there three doghouses? She had to do something! Stacy strained and strained, but the chain was too strong for her to break. She tried to dislodge the collar with her forepaws, but it wouldn't budge. She could at least make noise! She began to bark fiercely. However, Amanda stuck her head out the back door and said:
"Hush, girl! Be quiet and stay quiet!"
Stacy's mouth snapped shut with a click. She found she could whine and growl softly, but despite her best efforts, she could do no more. Dejectedly, she slunk into the doghouse and lay down.
Inside the house, Amanda rinsed the dish Stacy had eaten from and checked to see that she had all of her powders and formulae in order. It paid to be prepared, after all. A short while later, Amanda heard the doorbell ring. She answered the door, and saw that it was...
Who is at the door? Is it...
