Jack

The serpent had lived alone in that lake for 13 long years, she didnt go out of her cave much, she knew that people feared her. The first people she had ever met, a man and child ran in terror when they saw her, she was massive now, 60 ft long, she had grown wary of people since the last one she had met had attacked her. Leaving a gash on her snout and underbelly. She hadnt killed the man, she just fled.

Her cave was decorated with things she had found in the lake, many piles of gold here and there. She also had 2 sunken ships she had found, some still had the bones of the crew inside, she had only taken these because she thought it would have been wrong to leave them at the mercy of the water. She also had piles of other things too, ranging from very expensive looking swords and shields, to clothes and armour.

She was laying in her undersea cave, there the water stayed out but it was too far down for humans to reach. She lay there for a while thinking of her past when her stomach growled loudly, the noise echoing off the cave walls. She decided to leave her cave and go for a hunt.

Jack was running as fast as he could as his pursuers gained on him. He was being chased for stealing bread from a local mrket. He couldnt have done much else other than starve to death. He lived alone, his parents where eaten by a sea serpent when he was just a child, the serpent had left him, apparently too full to bother with him.

That was 10 years ago when Jack was 3, now Jack lived alone in the streets, he had to fend for himself, but he usually didnt get caught. He didnt want to run this way because he knew that a serpent lived in the lake. But the lake was his only chance at escape. The knights wouldnt be able to follow him over the water with their armour.

Jack saw the lake ahead, but his heart skipped a beat when he saw a serpents coils above the water. He looked back to see the knights right behind him. Now he had achoice, either be taken back to the town, where he would either be executed or have a hand chopped off... or take his chances with the serpent.

Jack decidedto take his chances with the serpent, maybe it had already eaten its fill, or maybe it wouldnt notice him. Jack ran into the water and swam as fast as he could.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------

The serpent was looking for food to quiet her stomachs growling when she saw a human run into the water and begin swimming. She thought this was odd, surely he had seen her coils on the waters surface. She then saw the knights behind him. She smiled, either that boy was brave, or stupid. She knew that humans never ventured near this lake for one reason, they where terrified of her. So she assumed that those knights must be worse than her.

She watched as one of the knights got out a bow and arrow, he aimed at the boy. The serpent decided that she wouldnt let that happen, maybe she could befriend this one if she saved him... though it would be hard to calm him after this.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------

Jack continued swimming when he saw the knight get out his bow. He couldnt ecape, suddenly he felt something move beneath him. He looked around, then he saw the serpent's head on the surface of the water, it was heading right for him, mouth open wide enough to engulf him in one bite, he saw it's fearsome sharp teeth and long snake like tongue. Jack didnt even have time to shout out before he was engulfed in the serpents dark, moist, maw.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------

The serpent felt proud as she swam back to her cave with the human in her mouth. She could see why people where afraid she may eat them, after all this boy was by chance the most scrumptios thing she had ever tasted. But she wouldnt eat him, she kept the boy pinned to the roof of her mouth to stop herself swallowing him.

The knight had still fired his bow, even though she had the boy, and the arrow was lodged into her neck. It wasnt fatal but it hurt, the gash on her snout and undebelly began to hurt too as the blood began pumping faster as she raced back to her cave.

She was almost there when she thought she heard laughing from the boy in her mouth.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------

Jack could hardly believe it, he had such rotten luck, he thought it would be over quicky but the serpend pressed him against the roof of its moth as it swam, probably to eat him later. He laughed at his bad luck, he couldnt stop himself.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------

Soon the serpent arrived at her cave, she lowered her head to the floor and dropped the boy gently onto a pile of soft bedding she slept in usually. The boy looked up at her terrified.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------

Jack felt himself land on the bedding, he could tell that this was where the serpent slept because of the way it was shaped. He wondered why the serpent had brought him here. He looked up at the serpent, he had heard many horror stories about these creatures, and what they did to those they caught.

The serpent had a gash on its snout and an arrow in its nech, but all it's focus was on Jack. Suddenly a terrifying thought came to his mind, if this serpent was female maybe it had brought him here to mate with him. Jack shuddered at the thought. Suddenly...
