Monster saw that the cave was empty meaning his father was still hunting and might not be back for a while. So in the mean time, Monster did the only thing he could think of and placed the girl in his father's bed and covered her with his blanket. Monster looked down at her lying peacefully under his father's blanket and noticed that she looked so still as to be dead.
He hoped she wouldn't die and stayed nearby as if to try and ward off death if he came for the child.
Heather woke up on a soft bed and figured that she must have been having a crazy dream until she opened her eyes. Directly above her head was the stone roof of a cave, she slowly looked around dreading what she might see. She saw that the dragon from earlier was sitting nearby and seemed to be waiting for something.
Heather could tell the dragon wasn't fully grown and figured that it was a child waiting to show its parents what it had caught. Heather tried to move quietly from the bed she was in and jumped when she saw the dragon turn its head to look at her. Heather yelped and ran to the back of the cave trying to escape the dragon, but it was a small cave and she didn't get very far.
The dragon walked towards her and Heather knew she must be about to die because the dragon was easily twice her size. The dragon sat down right in front of her its tail twitching as it watched her.
Heather's eyes almost popped out of her head as the dragon started talking and said, "Hello what's your name?"
"Wha-?" Heather gasped trembling in fear.
"I asked what your name is," the dragon said, "Mine's Monster."
