Chapter #8A meeting in the shadows by: Unknown Rain hit your already soaked body as you ran into the depths of the forest in search of a shelter.
It all had begun with a pleasant stroll when it suddenly started raining.
Great...
You were soaked to the bone when you finally managed to spot a small cave, partially hidden by the thick vegetation but still noticeable.
You didn't think twice as you sprinted inside.
You glanced around the cavern. From the inside, it looked quite big, and it was apparently deserted, so you could freely sit down and wait for the rain to stop before getting out again.
Exhausted from the strenuous run, you sat down on the hard, stone floor of the cave, leaning back against a wall. You inhaled deeply and exhaled heavily as you tried to regain your breath, small drops of water falling from your soaked air and clothes and splashing onto the floor.
Outside, the rain started raging, a strong wind starting to shake the trees of the forest violently. You gulped, glad that you found a shelter just in time.
Once you managed to regain some air in your lungs, you finally raised your head, slowly shaking it to rid it from the water. A thunder roared outside, but you paid it no mind. A thunder didn't scare you, the thought that you might be trapped in here for hours to an end did.
You sighed.
To take your mind off things, you started looking around the cave. There was nothing interesting aside from a weirdly shaped rock in a corner.
You were completely alone in a forest, in the middle of a thunderstorm and trapped in a deserted cave.
What a great day, you sarcastically thought as you grabbed your head in your hands.
And then, you heard something.
You looked around... you were sure you had heard a noise somewhere inside the cave.
"... Hello?" you called, your voice echoing around inside the cavern that served you as a shelter from the raging rain.
You shook your head - was your mind pulling pranks on you too now? - and tried to relax, cursing yourself for leaving your phone at home. Now, there was no way you could call for help if you needed to...
Again.
You turned around again, this time sure you heard a noise. But... there was no one aside from you...
You narrowed your eyes - why did that corner seem darker than the rest of the cave?
Curious, you got up and approached the darker side of the cavern. A low sound started assaulting your ears... it barely audible, and yet you could hear it even though the rain outside.
It was like a ghostly whisper.
You took a step back, rubbing your eyes. You were sure you saw a pair of red eyes staring straight at you from the shadows.
But it was only your brain, no?... Right?
You took a deep breath as you attempted to calm yourself, before finally removing your hand from your eyes and looking forward...
Your heart skipped a beat - they were still there.
A pair of big, red eyes staring straight at you.
"Wha...?" you muttered startled as a figure started to emerge from the shadows, apparently having noticed that you noticed it.
What looked like a pokemon came out... but it couldn't be.
It was enormous - at least 200 ft tall, tall enough for the tip of its head to touch the stone ceiling without issue.
As for the pokemon itself, you've never seen it before.
It had relatively short arms and legs and an oddly shaped head. It was completely dark grey, with fiery red eyes that stared straight at you.
You took a few steps back - this... thing had been with you inside the cave for the whole time? Or was it there before you even came inside?
It didn't matter, it sure frightened you...
The pokemon kept staring at you for a while more, before closing its eyes and starting to giggle.
A low, ghostly giggle assaulted your ears as you took a few more steps back, trying to figure out whether this giant was harmless or dangerous.
Also, you noted, you could hear a slight, feminine tone in that giggle, making you assume that this giant is actually a giantess.
And then, the pokemon looked back at you, a small smile on her face.
"Hi..." she spoke in a low, spectral voice. If she really was a pokemon, she undoubtedly was a ghost-type.
You needed to hear nothing more. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
