"Hey, Mark," you say. "Do you want to-"

"No," Mark says.

"But you didn't even let me finish my question!"

Mark shrugs. "I don't want to shoot hoops after school today."

Wow! Mark must be psychic.

"Mark?" you say. "What number am I thinking of?" You think of the number three.

Mark thinks for a moment. "Seven?"

You are disappointed. It would have been fun to have a friend who was a psychic and could read your mind. Unless he really is a psychic and is deliberately trying to mislead you. Maybe he knew you were thinking three and said seven on purpose?

"I'm not trying to mislead you," Mark says.
