At the end of this Saturday morning the 2nd class of Year 4 at Tomoeda Elementary were packing up and leaving. Just as Sakura Kinomoto fastened her backpack her closest friend, Tomoyo Daidouji, asked her a question.
"Could you come over this afternoon, Sakura-chan?" Sakura looked at her friend as she went over the chore rota in her head.
"Sure, Tomoyo-chan." Sakura replied with her characteristic warm smile before something occured to her. "What about Kero-chan?" She inquired.
"He can come too." Tomoyo answered. "I've got time to bake a cake." Sakura understood this all too well; Kero wouldn't let it down if he didn't get cake.
Less than two hours later Sakura entered through the gates of the Daidouji mansion. She was only a yard away from the front door before it opened and Tomoyo popped out from behind it to enthusiastically greet her friend and loved one.
Before long all three of them were in Tomoyo's bedroom whereupon Kero immediately flew up to Tomoyo's eye level and asked.
"Did you really bake a cake?" Tomoyo smiled and responed affirmatively, knowing all too well how keen he was on cake. Going over to the coffee table she opened a box to reveal a strawberry tart, which Kero looked upon with ecstasy.
"Kero-chan," Sakura told him, "We don't eat until we've dealt with what Tomoyo-chan asked us over for." While Kero sulked Tomoyo immediately produced a tape measure, expressing her desire to measure Sakura for new costumes. In spite of Sakura's confusion since she thought of Tomoyo's costumes always fitting her Tomoyo said that Sakura was going through a growth spurt.
