It was a couple years after Mia’s nerve-wracking defense in the case Wright vs. State, where she was able to have her first real taste of justice. A year or so after that case, she parted ways with Mr. Grossberg, and started up her own law firm, Fey & Co. Law Offices. She never was sought after for the high-profile cases, those were always handled by Grossberg, that was at least, until today…
Mia Fey rummaged through her purse to find the keys to her office at the firm, while the usual sounds of the city rattled on in the background. After a sufficient amount of fishing around, she was able to find them, and opened the door in front of her with a ‘click’. As usual, there was a small stack of papers awaiting her on her desk; a few memos here and there. She sighed to herself as she hung up her purse and went over to her desk to see if any new cases had arrived. She sorted through the notes on her desk, mostly old case notes, some files on the DL-6 incident she had compiled together for her own independent investigation; nothing new.
“Excuse me, Miss Fey?” came a voice from behind her office door.
Mia got up from her desk to go answer the door, and was greeted by a spiky haired man in a blue suit, holding a small package in his arms. “Wright! “ she exclaimed, a smile on her lips, “So nice to see you again. So, ready to start your first day at Fey & Co?”
Phoenix smiled back, slightly nervous, sweat beading up on his forehead, "Of c-course Chief!" he barked out, "Thanks again for letting me work with you at your firm. I really appreciate it after what you did for me back at the trial. It really made me want to become a defense attorney even more than I did before"
"Not a problem at all, Wright. It's nice to have someone else at this office besides myself. " she replied
"Oh, before I forget Chief, there was a package left outside your office for you. I'm not exactly sure what's in it, but it seems like it's pretty important. Looks like it was rushed over here pretty fast." Phoenix chimed in.
As Phoenix handed Mia the package, her phone started ringing madly. Mia looked at the caller ID on it, but the number was unlisted, and was not local...
