“Then I am now Annie, Mistress,” You respond with a bow.
“Please don’t call me that,” The child requested. “Call me Ema.”
“Very well, Mistress Ema.”
“No!” Ema was getting frustrated. “Just Ema, call me Ema, no Mistress.”
“Okay, Ema,” You smile.
“Good,” Ema praised. “Do you like your new name?”
“I’m glad that Mis… Ema has given me a name and….”
“No!” Ema scolded. “I want you to tell me what you think about your name.”
You thought for a moment, “I like it.”
“Good,” Ema smiled. The child took your collar and wrote your new name on it. “How come you’re wearing those pajamas?”
“These,” You explained. “Are my display clothes. They are the standard clothes included with every elf.”
“Really?” Ema asked. “Julie says that her favorite elf came with a princess dress.”
“All elves come with these standard clothes,” You repeat. “That is the rule at PlayPal so that all elves will be as neutral as possible so our owners may mold us. PlayPal, where best….”
“Please stop saying that,” The child remarked. “I knew Julie was lying,” Ema added. “She’s always fibbing. Can you wear different clothes?”
“Play…” You started. “The people who made me offer a line of clothes for elves.”
The child glanced at her dollhouse and grinned. “Can you wear Barbie clothes?”
“Barbie,” You explain. “Was the basic model for elves during development; therefore, elves are perfectly sized for all of Barbie’s clothes and accessories.”
“Cool!” Ema smiled. “We can go through all my Barbie clothes and decide which ones you look best in.”
