"Alright here!" You say quickly realizing you had a way out of this. You take off your head as the man looks like he's about to faint. It being a week from Halloween, you thought you could brush it off as a costume. "Hey, man, I'm just getting my costume together."
"Costume?" Said the man.
"Uh yeah! For Halloween next week...?" You say matter-of-factly.
The man looked like a sudden realization washed over him, and his face looked relieved. "Ah ha! Of course. Wow, kid, that's some freaky costume ya got!" The man complimented you. "How are you doing that?"
"Oh just a little illusion I've rigged up," you lie to him. "And yeah, freaky indeed." If only he knew, you thought.
"Hey, sorry about freaking out about that. It just looked so realistic. Well done. I'm your neighbor Harry, by the way. Your mom and dad know me. My wife and I are having a neighborhood Halloween party next week. We'd love you guys to join, if you wouldn't mind telling your parents we invited them."
"Absolutely, Harry, we will be there!" You say, at first lying once again. The tall 38-year-old man headed back down the block towards his house as you and Sarah looked at each other. "Phew!" You both said.
"You're not actually going to go there next week, are you babe?" Sarah asked you.
"Well, at first, I was just trying to get him out of our hair. But, now I'm thinking." He analyzed the remote and saw an awareness setting in which the user can make everyone believe everything is normal whenever he makes a swap. "I found this button that kinda acts like a reality changer. It makes people unaware when there's been a swap. What if....-" you trailed off for a second. "What if we were to go to that party? I mean think about it. Tons of people dressed in ridiculous costumes, teenage girls in skimpy outfits, couples in risqué matching costumes, sexy cats, cheerleaders, and bunnies. Not to mention all the kids we could swap too. Think about the fun we could have. The chaos we could cause!" You were getting all giddy thinking about it.
The thought of swapping a man's head onto a girl in a skimpy cat costume did seem to be highly amusing to Sarah. She agreed and was on board with you. "Should we test it out before then, though? Just to make sure we have the hang of it? I mean, it seems like there are a lot of different buttons we haven't tried. Plus, we should also figure out the reset button. Plus, we need to get your head back on your body first of all." She chuckled.
"Hmmm........._____________________"  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
