Spirit form exploration

Aang didn't know where to begin.

one moment he was in his Avatar state in the Earth kingdom city of Ba-sing-sa, and now he was drifting in the void.

He remember the paralysing pain that coursed through his body and he remembered Roku's words about what happens should he die in the Avatar State, yet as he drifts he thought that since he's the avatar that he shouldn't even be existing or feeling anything in his blue glowing form.

so what was he now.

a spirit, and if so where was the spirit world.

before he think more about it, a bright light swallowed his being, Aang was blinded for a moment before it all cleared up and when it did he found himself in...

Where was he.
