Lauren got in her car and drove over to Katie's house. It was only a few blocks away, but Lauren wanted to get there as fast as possible.
Lauren absolutely loved spending time with Katie and her dog Jester. Jester really enjoyed it when Lauren came over. Lauren always wanted to have a dog of her own, but her mom wouldn't let her have one. So Jester was kind of her pet too.
When Lauren arrived, she saw Katie and Jester playing in the front yard. She quickly joined in as the two girls would throw the ball back and forth as Jester tried to catch it. The girls sat outside and played with Jester for most of the afternoon. They didn't notice how late it was until the sun started to set.
"Wow, it's getting late. I should probably get home for dinner with the family." Lauren said.
