Marge didn't hear Lisa because she was too far away at the time but Homer did and he responded to the crying. He assumed at first that Maggie had hurt herself or wandered off and become scared by something but then he noticed a small girl that looked a lot like Lisa except for her cloths. Homer had seen Lisa only minutes before wearing her red dress and sandals yet this girls outfit was totally different and she was maybe half Lisa's age. This confused Homer who was never the sharpest tool in the draw.
"Heh. Who are you?" He asked as he crouched down next to Lisa who just choked by tears and looked up at her dad. "Dad! It's me Lisa! Don't you recognise me?" Homer looks confused for a second then says. "Heh. Wait a minute. You can't be Lisa because she's in the second grade and you don't look old enough for school. Lisa stared in disbelief. The pain from her fall began to subside and she began to get annoyed. "Dad you oaf! It's me! The house just made me younger! Listen we're all in danger! Terrible danger! We've got to get out of here!" Lisa says. Homer looks at her gormlessly for several seconds then he begins to realise what's going on.
"Okay. Note to self: House may be more haunted than you thought." Homer says before picking Lisa up and looking at her. "I guess it really is you Lisa. Sorry about not recognising you there." Homer says. Lisa responds. "Never mind that. Lets just get out of here."
