You ran for the door out of the room, it seemed an impossible distance and the idea of climbing the stairs seemed even more impossible once you were threw it. Well, today was going to be a day for impossible things it seemed. However as you neared the door it opened on its own accord, and standing on the other end of it was a massive creature.
Well that wasn't entirely true. It was shorter than everything else in this lab, and in comparison to the equipment here it was probably somewhere around eight to nine inches tall. However compared to your diminutive size it was like a massive monster out of kaiju. You looked up in at the beast as your fur bristled nervously. A long thin body and a busy tail. Your worst fears had been realized.
SQUIRRELS.
Squirrels were always known to be... a little nutty. They did science experiments that not even the most demented wolf (or cat for that matter) would even dream of. The only good thing about squirrels is like most rodents they were small enough not to be a huge threat in combat. Oh boy was the shoe on the other foot now. You and the other cats were at a size far beneath rodents, you were practically rodent sized in comparison to something like a mouse, there was no way of beating these now massive squirrels in a direct encounter.
You immediately started to stumble back, looking for a place to hide. More squirrels appeared from behind the door and soon swarmed into the room. Now you had to worry about not just trying to stay hidden, but trying to avoid being stepped on. You ran for the crates you had dove behind earlier, trying to get underneath them to hide yourself from the squirrels. Other cats were running as well, but squirrels were scooping them up and dropping them into what looked like test tubes then jamming a cork into them leaving the felines trapped inside. just what kind of insane experiment were they planning. You forced your body flat against the floor as you wedged your way under the crate. Hopefully here you could evade capture and come up with a plan of action to save your fellow felines from whatever plan the nefarious squirrels had for them.
