Agasa had a puzzled look on his face as he turned around to tell them the results of the analysis. "It seems that...your bodies are slowing down in their metabolism". Conan and Haibara collapsed in a humorous fashion as they in a sense "facepalmed" at his obvious realization of what they already knew. "We know that old man, just tell us how to fix it" Conan yelled at Dr Asaga.
"Well, honestly these results aren't really showing anything" he said. "It seems that you're metabolisms are not just cut in half, but are slowly decreasing more and more" he said. The two small 7 year old sized adult-turned kids looked at the Dr. in shock. "De-decreasing!?" Conan said.
"Indeed, it would seem as though the poison of the Aptx 4869 are altering your systems. It’s lowering your bodies' abilities to convert food into energy and instead makes it so the food automatically turns into fat with the energy being used up by the poison to power it, which in other words, means it is lowering your metabolisms more and more. In addition, you are constantly getting hungrier and hungrier because no energy is being absorbed when you eat, leaving you in a constant state of hunger" Dr Asaga said.
"But wait, we can control out metabolisms right? We can just try to control our eating…if it’s even possible” Conan said.
“I’m afraid this isn’t normal metabolism dropping by any means. It’s caused by the poison and if you don't treat it right, it will continue to drop no matter what you do until you are permanently hungry, eating to the point of obesity and constantly eating and fattening up quickly because of your lowered metabolisms and constant drained energy. Because of the poison's effects your metabolisms will become very sensitive. The more uncontrollably you eat, the lower your metabolisms will get. Eventually your metabolisms will be so low that you will be constantly hungry throughout most of the day, so you will essentially becoming gluttonous consumers that eat everything" he finished.
It was then that Conan grabbed Haibara's arm and said in a panic "Haibara, if we don't do something soon, we'll be fat blobs that devour everything we SEE" he said as he hyperventilated.
"Will you cool it Conan. There is a way to fix this" she said. Conan relaxed if only a little bit taking his hand off of Haibara.
“She’s right Conan. Remember that , while we don’t have a cure, your hunger could be controlled manually with the conventional methods I mentioned before. You can still try portion control, exercise, diet and other methods as I mentioned before to maintain your weight” he said. “Perhaps it will balance your metabolisms and steady them, but they will continue to drop and your appetites will continue to increase greatly” he said. To this, Conan’s chubby face dropped sadly. “Its fine Conan, just try to control your eating as I said. You too Haibara” he turned and said to her. “Yes Dr. Asaga” she replied.
"In any case, I will continue to work on a cure for the Aptx 4869, or at least a cure for your insatiable appetites" he said. "And besides, these may not even be 100% true results. Perhaps your metabolisms will rise again or stop dropping at some point and your appetites will be in tow" he said.
Afterwards, all 3 left the lab and walked into Dr Asaga’s living room when Conan and Haibara sat on his couch, small bellies and butts jiggling as they plopped their rears down.
They saw the results of the fattening on their chubby rounder faces, plump arms and puffy fingers until the heard something all too familiar, the growling noise from their cute jiggling bellies.
"well it looks like we're hungry again" Haibara said looking down at her stomach, still puffy and pudgy and full of the hamburgers from before, but it craved more now. Their metabolisms were dropping faster than they thought.
