Doug woke up and realized it was Sunday and in Grandma’s house Sunday meant church. So he got up and walked out to the kitchen only to be greeted by a giant feast. Grandma told him to sit down and eat up before church. He found it weird that he instinctively sat down in the recliner but brushed it off. After two more plated that grandma had brought over Doug was stuffed. Then they had left for church. They sat through the service and Doug was finally relieved when it was over as he was not that religious. As he was about to leave grandma stopped him and told him they had to stay after for the food. He was still stuffed from this morning but couldn’t say no to Grandma. When he walked in to the cafeteria he was expecting just a few things but instead he saw that Grandma’s church goes all out with food. She said that she was in charge of the group of ladies that make the food and she never wants there to be a shortage. All of the ladies that made the food were Grandma’s friends. They would say hi to both of them and have comments to grandma like, “ Wow your grandson looks like a young John.” And, “ is this our new taste tester, I liked the last one.” Doug couldn’t ignore them as they attacked him with questions about their food, “ Try this Young man” and, “ tell me what you think of this” as they stuffed his plate high full of their food. Doug was feeling so stuffed but he couldn’t say no to their food as he didn’t want to hurt the old ladies feelings. They were jealous because they couldn’t get their husbands to go to church with them so they stuffed Doug like they would their men. As Doug’s meal was coming to an end one of his buttons flew off and the ladies laughed. Doug was embarrassed but one of the ladies said, “ I bet your grandma just shrunk it in the wash.” And all of them nodded in agreement.
