Lucina was reading a book in her room when she heard a knock on her door.
"It's me!" Sumia said, sounding happier than normal.
"Come in mother."
Sumia did so and with a spring in her step, approached Lucina, holding a box.
“Here Lucina, Gaius found this while lurking around. I figured it was more you’re kind of thing than mine.”
Lucina opened it up. Inside was a shining, celebrate forged silver bracelet. Lucina was intrigued by the bright shine it gave and picked it up for a closer inspection. It looked even better in good light, each link was intricately woven and on the largest part were several paintings of the moon , each in varying phases and of a quality she would expect from a Royal Artist.
“Thank you mother… this must have cost you a lot.”
Sumia laughed.
“Actually no. All I had to was agree to bake him a week’s supply of sweets.”
Lucina opened her mouth in disbelief then laughed.
“I know he likes sweets but I can’t believe he parted with something so valuable over… sweets.”
“I’m a very good at making sweets and he has the love with them.” Sumia winked. “Never underestimate the effect good food can have on a man. And I said I’d bake them with extra honey.”
Lucina blinked.
“I don’t understand why that would matter….”
“Never mind, it’s a long story. Anyway it didn’t look this good when he showed it to me, I had to polish it several times before it sparkled like this.”
Lucina held the bracelet in front of her, er eyes drawn to the various moons
“You did a very good job. Are you sure I should have this? Wouldn’t you rather wear it?”
“I’m fine. Besides since I married your father I have more than enough things to wear.” And you could use all the fashion help you could get…. Sumia thought, recalling her times clothes shopping with her daughter.”
“Thank you mother!” She hugged Sumia and put on the bracelet. It fit perfectly, not the slightest bit too loose or too tight, almost as though it had been tailor made for her. She proudly walked, eager to show off her new treasure.
