It's been but a mere 4 months since Grima was stopped, the Dark Dragon who threatened to destroy the world had been sealed for another 1,000 years by Lucina's father, Chrom, and his best friend, Robin. Robin had fully intended to destroy the dragon himself, being of the same blood, at the cost of his own life, but Chrom forbade it, believing in the strong bonds friendship could overcome rather than saving everyone at the cost of one's life. Lucina had intended to strike Robin down to prevent the future premonition of her father's death, but in hindsight, with Robin's unmatched tactical ability winning a bright future for the next 1,000 years, it was the right decision to believe in her father's friendship.
Since that day 4 months ago, Lucina had married her close friend, Gerome, the wyvern-riding son of Cherche and Gregor, crafter of her signature mask, and childhood crush. The two could not return to their time, the same fate regarding their companions from the future, so Lucina had decided to settle down with Gregor in the Wyvern Valley of Valm to enjoy a quiet life together. Lucina's family, especially mother, Sumia, and sister, Cynthia, had wished the two would have chosen a home closer to Ylisse, but taking care of the wyverns was a joy to both Lucina and Gregor, so the Ylissean Royal Family let the two be; Cynthia had especially taken frequent vacations from her job in the Pegasus Knights to visit her beloved sister.
On this particular day, Lucina had been out gathering wood with Minerva, Gerome's beloved wyvern, to prepare for dinner, Gerome out hunting for deer, bears, and other meat to prepare. It probably would've been more effective for Gerome to use Minerva in hunting, but he considered himself a proud husband, and wanted to become a man Lucina could rely on without a giant dragon crutch; in truth, he also thought Minerva and Lucina bonding was the cutest thing he had seen, and wished to progress the relationship. Lucina flew through the skies, wind blowing through her long blue hair, Falchion sheathed at her side, satchel of logs at her backside, as Minerva flapped her giant black wings through the night sky. Lucina moved a hand from Minerva's reins to brush her hair back, her face was in an ear-to-ear smile.
"The breeze feels so good, doesn't it girl? Gerome must feel blessed to have a partner like you to fly over this beautiful landscape with." Minerva let out a loud roar in approval, a sign of the two bonding well. Lucina had felt so jealous of Cynthia to have learned how to ride a pegasus from mother, to feel the wind blow through her hair, to see the amazing geography of the world from the sky; she felt relieved that the nightmare of Grima had ended and she was able to enjoy herself in such a manner she had never been before in the ruined future. On this particular night, a meteor shower had erupted over Wyvern Valley, beautiful rocks from the vast space had shot across the sky in beautiful trailing whites, a sight that many would call a miracle of nature; Lucina let out a gasp and let her smile grow wide as she saw how close she was to the shower of glowing rocks.
In fact, too close.
A meteor was about to clobber the airborne duo.
Lucina quickly tugged Minerva's reins and the dragon dodged out of the way in response, the meteor almost striking Minerva's wing and shooting the two out of the sky. They watched as the large rock plummeted towards the ground and impacted itself in the Earth, taking an acre of trees with it. Where the two currently were was far from where Gerome and Lucina had built their dream home, etched into the side of a mountain, built from wood and stone with a stable for Minerva to stay, but its only flaw was how high up and far it was from the vast woodland. Lucina figured it was best to go home as usual and help prepare a fire for dinner, but a rebellious streak took over her judgment for a minute, curiosity had struck her for such a rare event.
"It's not every day we see something like this. What do you say girl? Would you like to investigate?" Minerva lowered her neck in agreement, almost as if a nod, and descended towards the impact site.
When the two reached the massive crater where the meteor lay, the wooded area had burned out from the impact, and the area glowed an eerie green that emanated from the mirror. Lucina had dismounted herself from Minerva and approached the meteor, sliding down the earthen crater to get a closer look. The rock was huge, almost the size of her body, so Lucina could only approach and touch the rock, breaking off a souvenir would prove to be tough. Lucina had placed both of her hands onto the face of the rock and stared at the glowing monolith, almost entranced by its glow.
"It's so pretty..." Lucina cooed, enamored by the natural beauty, "I've never seen anything so beautiful..." Suddenly, the rock shook, causing Lucina to remove her hands from the face of the stone. She quickly removed Falchion from its sheath and prepared to leap back, when suddenly the rock exploded into a bright green light that filled the crater like a sphere, knocking Lucina back and blowing Falchion out of her hands. Minerva, concerned, roared and lunged closer as the light dispersed, expecting to burn a creature that may have knocked her master's wife back, but when she entered the crater, she found the rock had completely shattered, leaving nothing behind and no visible signs of anything that exited. After confirming nothing was out of the ordinary, Minerva moved towards Lucina and licked the young woman's face in an effort to wake her, Lucina quickly coming back to reality with the wet, sulfur-smelling saliva.
"Thank you, Minerva..." Lucina had removed herself from the small crater of dirt she left by her impact and dusted herself off, she looked for Falchion and sheathed the blade once again after removing it from the ground. She looked at the explosion epicenter where the rock once stood and moved her hand to her head, shaking off a headache; she didn't expect the meteor to do that at all, and it'd be a tough experience to shake off. Lucina looked down at her body for any signs of bodily harm, but couldn't find anything. "I don't have any wounds, I don't feel in pain, but...It's strange..."
