"Mom, there's nothing down here," you say as you walk under the couch.
"Wha--you haven't even looked yet!" your gigantic mother's voice booms. "I just saw it slide under there, now get looking for it, or I'll punish you," she threatens.
Ugh, you think. Ever since your dad left her, your mom has quick to punish you, for almost nothing at times. You've been grounded so many times in the last year, often for things you couldn't even help. You realize your mom is just taking out her frustration on you, and almost sympathize--she is your mother, after all.
"Mom, I don't see anything," you say, after walking further under the couch, just to try to please her. It's true, there's nothing. You walk out from under the couch, to see your mom's giant face peering down, her body towering over you. Uh-oh, you think, seeing the unfavorable frown on her face.
"You didn't look," she says, tilting her head a bit to the side.
"Yes I did, there was nothing down there!" you yell in frustration.
"DON'T LIE TO ME, YOU LITTLE BRAT!" your mother's voice booms, sending a shiver through your spine. When you mother yelled at you at normal size you were usually taken aback, but this was unreal. "You're grounded for a week," she says bitterly.
Looking up at her, you don't know what she's going to do next...
