Chapter #2

The No-So-Foolish Fool and the Forrest

    by: Drakin Author IconMail Icon
A dark figure moved though the shadows. Clothed all in black, he ran across the fields, the lights of a distant city not far behind. His breath came in short pants as he neared a forest and, without hesitation, dove into the dark tree line.
Branches tugged at his clothes and broke against the heavy suitcase he had clutched in one hand. Yet still he ran, fear driving him faster than hisw body could handle as he felt the shadow not far behind him.
Eventually he rested in a clearing, trying to get some sense of direction.
A shadow moved in the darkness.
"You have one chance," Came the thickly accented voice from somewhere in the trees. "Leave da briefcase and get out of here... or it will be time for much hurting."
The figure dropped the case right away. "I'm just the delivery boy. Don't hurt me!"
And before anything else could be said, he took off back into the woods, perhaps towards the city. No sooner had he gone than the figure stepped from the woods into the clearing.

Getting down to business, he opened the briefcase and took out the documents, competitors secrets the sneak had been hired to steal. Blitz wasted no time in shredding them with his sharp claws.
As he stood to try and sniff his way back to civilization though, his blood ran cold. Only the overwhelming sent of pine trees filled his nose. It was true, he'd never had the strongest nose on the teem, but he was worried that he couldn't even find one sent to lead him back to the city. Worse still, save for the suit he wore, he had nothing with him, and he'd just shredded his only means of a signal fire. Cursing his luck, Blitz sighed, "Just like the old days."
And so, he started to walk...
