Kiara agreed to start a diet. For breakfast she had less than anyone else, and that left her very hungry. Nala and two other lionesses got Kiara up and she started waddling around a bit. She was grumpy for feeling hungry and tired all the time, and her legs were aching. Plus, after three days of trying to diet, she didn't notice any change in her weight. She had instead developed a new technique for getting up: she supported herself between the wall and a big rock and swung her body for momentum, and then quickly rose up. She didn't succeed every time, but at least she could get up on her own.
"Mum, I'm hungry and tired and I haven't lost any weight yet."
"Kiara, it's only been three days! Diets usually last months, maybe years. Even though you won't be noticing any changes soon, you've got to keep on with your diet if you were to lose weight."
Months? Years?! Kiara wasn't going to take this another day. She asked to go to grandma Sarafina's cave for some time, and so Sarafina came to get her. It took almost the whole day for them to get there, since Kiara could only waddle very slowly and had to take long breaks.
"Grandma, mum made me go on this stupid diet and I haven't had enough to eat for three days!"
"Oh, that sounds bad! I don't think you have to continue with your diet if you don't feel like it. A young lioness is capable of making her own decisions, you know."
"That's what I think, too! No more dieting for me! Grandma, you wouldn't happen to have anything to eat, would you?"
"Sure I do!"
