As Templeton lay there, struggling to move, his hiding place suddenly became dark. He craned his head around and saw an entire bucket of rotten scraps being dumped into the trash can!
He wiggled enough to move his head into the perfect position, leaving his mouth open to eat the delicious trash being practically fed right to him! Fruit peels, bread crusts, and everything Templeton could ever dream of were being poured in his waiting mouth! The bucket was emptied and the person walked off, apparently not noticing the engorged rat in the trash can. Templeton ate and ate, his swollen belly not done digesting his earlier gluttony. Finally, that treasure trove was also gone, and Templeton lay at the bottom of the trash can, hiccupping and moaning.
As he sat there, his sloshing belly wobbling from side to side, Templeton the rat...
