As Red continued through the forest, humming softly to herself, she was startled by something that jumped out from behind a large hedge to the left of the path. Giving a loud cry, she jumped and dropped the basket on the floor, the small amount of cookies she had not consumed herself tumbling onto the ground. The something that had startled her so was named Wolf and was called this because that is what he was. Licking his lips at the sight of the chubby girl kneeling on the floor in front of him, he walked over to her and helped her pick up the cookies and the basket from the floor.
"I'm so sorry, little girl," the wolf simpered, handing her back the basket. Red took it from him looking deeply annoyed.
"And so you should be! I was taking those cookies to my grandmother's house. Now they aren't good for anything! Granny will be most upset!" Red exploded, unable to keep her annoyance back.
"I don't think she will be quite as upset as you are. I expect you were planning to keep the cookies you didn't eat earlier for the remainder of the journey!" the wolf said accusingly, feeling rather smug.
"I...how did you...well, I'm hungry and I need to keep my strength up. I'm a growing girl!" Red replied, defiantly.
"You certainly are!" the wolf grinned, taking in Red's tight skirt and the pot belly that was making it so uncomfortable. "I tell you what, I have some more cookies in my cave not far from here. If we walk there, I can give you some more cookies to take to your grandmother and you can be on your way."
Red hesitated.
