Katherine needed to buy more groceries, of course. But who said she couldn't buy more than just the normal list? In fact, her parents were going to be gone for quite awhile, so why not have a party or two? After all, she can just clean up afterward. And they did kind of deserve it for leaving her alone with no food for herself.
And so Katherine decided to "borrow" the family SUV and drive down to the local supermarket, the one with the lobster tank and the smoothie bar. You know the one. After gathering all the normal groceries that no home should be without, Katherine got to the fun part; party food. Wanting to throw the best party this side of town, she went all out; cake mixes, pizzas, soda, snacks, the works.
After arriving home and struggling to find room for everything, Katherine called up all her friends; no reason to invite the entire school, right? However, every person she called wanted to invite someone else....and Katherine would felt bad if she said no.
Perhaps she should have been more assertive. What was supposed to be just about 12 or so people turned into 73 party house.
