"But I want to be a snake king!" I protest, squirming in her tentacled grip. She only holds tighter, squeezing the breath from my lungs. I'm a very constricted boa constrictor! After the third time I almost slip from her clutches, the beautiful snake woman sighs, soaring in the direction of the grand palace. "If I introduce you to the king, do you promise to behave?" she asks. "Yes!" I swear. I would be crossing my fingers if I had any. The naga drops me off right in front of the throne, settling at the king's side with an air of ruffled feathers. "Your heir, Sire," she tells the Snake King as he rises to his full height. He's an anaconda, only he's larger than any I've ever heard of. He must be over a hundred feet long, with fangs as long as my whole body! I shake in my metaphorical boots. "So you have come to see me!" he says, adjusting the huge golden crown on his head with his tail. I nod once, too afraid to speak. The naga watches me with narrowed eyes, clearly displeased. "And you want to be my heir?" "Y-Yes, sir," I stutter. Unexpectedly, he laughs. "Foolish young snake! Only the biggest of idiots would chose to be my heir! You see, there is a curse upon this throne. No heir of mine can live more then a day. As soon as I declare someone my heir, their fate is set! The only way to stop it is to kill the evil wizard who lives in the tower across the valley, and who cursed me for marrying his daughter. But now, I declare you my heir, the only snake foolish enough to choose to be so. What will you do?"
