Slinking over to a nearby section of decorated wall, you set down your back-pack on the grass. Sifting through it, you produce a small harpoon gun with a long rope coiled against. Stepping back, you take carful aim at the second story window, and contract the trigger. A moment later, the harpoon has caught against a a crack in the stone on a window ledge. Reaching down, you tie a knot in one of the packs straps, allowing you to haul it up after you, ounce you've shimmied up to the ledge.
Application of a chissel pries the window open, and you're in. The window alcove opens directly on to a carpeted but otherwise plain hallway, and you can hear faint sounds coming from your right, perhaps worth investigating. To the left,
the passage reaches a fork, one side going down and the other continuing on. Which way do you go?
